The Irishman gets a Trailer
The Irishman was announced a while back with a combination of many famous actors and is directed . Yesterday in the middle of the Oscars, Netflix dropped a trailer for the movie.
The Irishman will supposedly take a similar tone to Goodfellas just like all Crime or Gangster movies that Scorsese makes, because Goodfellas is a black comedy & Gangster movie which describes gangster life. I just saw it again and it mentions different types of mobs (as cameos), while praising the Italian mafias. 2 of the main characters are Irish-american, and the other is Italian-american who is about to be made. As far as Jimmy was concerned, Tommy being made was like the entire group being made.
Back to the upcoming movie, "The Irishman", filming has already started and the first trailer came. The actors that star in "The Irishman" include Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Anna Paquin and Ray Romano. "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Charles Brandt also serves as an adaptation of the screenplay written by Steven Zaillian. The thing that attracts me the most is the return of Joe Pesci, because he's the most volatile actor.
The movie will be released by Netflix in October, with up to a $200 budget which is the highest in Martin Scorsese' career. The high budget is definitely because of using high profile actors and director, screenwriter (etc...). Don't forget marketing, it just started in the Oscars.
It's funny it's just a Netflix movie because I don't know how it will make money in Netflix. Come to think of it, I don't know how it will make enough money in the regular theaters, with so much competition. Rated R movies have to suffer with competition.
Anyways, if any critic gives the movie a bad score, I'll just do a Donnie Darko.
