The Multi-Community Charter of Rights and Freedom
So here we have it folks, in the last episode of The Walking Dead. Many topics to cover, but I'll start with the one that was least important to the story, but most important to me. Let's go a flashback do something I've been meaning to ask the creators. With many groups living together, are things 5 years later just like they were before?
I've been meaning to write this weeks back, but I got hold up. Not just the trade routine between Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom that I knew about before the supposed death of Rick, but how the communities are thriving after five years. No answer in the first two episodes so I thought I would write something. I'm going to include parts of what I wrote in the end of this, because we got the answer in the third episode after the midseasons.
During a flashback, Tara hands Ezekiel a new Charter prepared by Michonne, while saying that she herself is moving. It includes many Articles. I myself couldn't read any because the flashback was very brief, and only a glimpse of the Charter was shown. If I can find a high quality version, I'll send it. But I read it by zooming in, and here's what it says.
"Any person who would live in peace and fairness, who would find common ground, this world is yours by right"
"Article 1: We survived the end of the world. We are banded together by the fellowship of the living..."
"Article 2: The days of fury are over..."
"Article 3: The world is ours again..."
"Article 4: "
Along with being convenient to answering any questions, it also acts as an opposite to The Whisperers, or primarily Alpha. I'm not going deep into it now.
Alpha: "Your people crossed into our land, there will be no conflict. Your people killed our people, there will be no conflict... Bring me my daughter, or there will be conflict."
The right side of the Charter is hidden by Ezekiel and the screen. The communities Alexandria, The Kingdom, and Oceanside have already signed and Ezekiel is waiting for the Hilltop and the Sanctuary. In the current time, Oceanside is never shown anymore. The Sanctuary is dead, scattered or empty because nobody lives there anymore. Negan was heartbroken by the fact actually.
Now what I was writing before the episode aired. I knew how the trade routes were functioning before Rick's death, so I wanted to know how it functioned after 5 years. I guess there is no trade or they share everything. I wanted to know who's dealing the cards but it seemed obvious that there was nobody. I'll accentuate this as well in the review because it's something that came up in the last episode.
So basically everything I thought of was, where are the the groups??? Holy cow, that makes a lot of sense. Oh and like Negan says "something" like, "Everybody else got their fairyland except me" makes a lot a sense now right? lol!
Anyways, a review of the third episode will come soon, and it is the most exciting episode introduced in this season so far. Even though the episode has little to do with the Charter.
