Captain Marvel vs SHAZAM
Captain Marvel is going to be released by Marvel in March 6, while SHAZAM is going to be released in April 5 this year. Which Captain Marvel will win in a fight?
It's a tricky question, an answer that should result in a standoff, since they are supposed to be the same character. SHAZAM used to go by the alias "Captain Marvel", and the trademark wars between Marvel and DC is why DC isn't using the name anymore.
Carol Danvers or Ms Marvel, Binary, Warbird etc is the most popular female character in Marvel, and she was created in the 1980s. DC was overloaded with female characters by then. Even now, DC has the edge in comics. Marvel decided to use Captain Marvel only in 2012 for Carol Danvers. There were multiple iterations of Captain Marvel's in Marvel though.
In the movies, Marvel probably figured out they hadn't given proper attention to female characters only after Wonder Woman came out in 2017, so they decided to give Carol Danvers her own movie. She was given the title Captain Marvel such that she might be popular after February.
But then, Captain Marvel truly belongs to DC and the trademark was stolen from them. Captain Marvel is a name used back from the 1940s. Billy Batson or SHAZAM is a superhero which was used on a different level. Now forced to trademark SHAZAM, S stands Solomon, H Stands for Hercules (Superhero strength & more), A Stands for Atlas (Endurance & more), Z Stands for Zeus (magic powers & more), A Stands for Achilles (will & more), and M Stands for Mercury (speed & more). A nearly omnipotent superhero for DC, I would say.
So the question you should be asking me is not Captain Marvel vs SHAZAM. It's Carol Danvers vs SHAZAM. (normal vs ultimate)
